I actually wrote and essay plan for my critical studies essay, i have decided to do the question on fashion and gender so now all i need to do is get some books out of the libary to start my first draft. It feels good to be organised for once, I actually don't mind doing the essay as I started to miss them, which is quite weird.
On thursday we got our brief for fashion art and culture, a lot of people had trouble with it because it is so broad and it seems like quite a rush to have just a week to collect your thoughts and ideas. I really don't like this brief, it just seems rather random and silly. The end result will be an artifact to fit in a 20x20 cm show space, so i intend to start my research this weekend to finalise my ideas for thursday.
Friday was the start of interdisiplinary processes and my first lesson was a fabric manipulation workshop, i enjoyed it much more than i thought i would. I especially liked the way hot wax effected the fabric and managed to do quite alot of samples, i was almost shocked at my own productivity. I think i'll enjoy the rotating workshops because I find doing a variety of things to be more interesting than being in the studio doing the same thing all the time.
I want to get some work out of the way this weekend because its amis birthday night out on tuesday (james bond themed and ending up in a strip club) so that will take up lots of the weeks energy...
