Another week..havent written on this in a while!

Critical studies tutorial went well, the teacher said i seem to have my essay more planned than anyone else and had a clear idea of what i was doing which suprised me to be honest...ha

Went out for amis birthday on Tues which was good but we didn't make it to the strip club..People had a bit too much pre drinking and the birthday girl ended up having vomiting issues at bourbon.

We had to present our ideas for Fashion Art and Culture in front of Sue and half the group which i was quite nervous about as i get shy in presentations and my voice can be quite quiet normally so i have to remember to speak up. I did actually find it really helpful, Sue helped us collect our ideas and make them more geared towards the brief. Mines focusing on globalisation and an increase in wealth, i need to get the materials for it at the weekend then hopefully I can start.

Friday i made a hat! In the 3D workshop we had to manipulate fabric to make it 3D and something that was either an accessory or a panel for a garment and since we had Sharon the millenery teacher (who is really nice) I decided to make a hat. It was quite easy to do and i enjoyed it because it was something different and i really felt like i was learning. It started off with a block and then some stiffening fabric (thats name i forgot...) which i steamed round the block then once it had taken on the shape i wanted sewed wire into it so it would keep its shape. I then sewed my chosen fabric onto it, practicing different draping techniques to see which i liked best.

Didn't have crit studies on the mon because its essay tutorials and mines next week, im quite confident with writing essays so theres no problems there, got some books out of the libary so all my sources arent wikied too...get me.

Totally changed my ideas on my visualisation & illustration on tues, ive decided to do a narrative based on the Giles Decon who killed Bambi dress (based on the sex pistols song) so im thinking of doing Disney characters a bit wrong..or my teacher suggesed doing them all in death scenes, i intend to research it more before the lesson next week so i can finalise my ideas.

Today I started making my artifact, i had spraypainted the doll silver the night before and started putting on the gems which is time consuming but quite satisfying and i am pleased with the way that it is going. I think I could have made more of an effort on this project, but I didn't like it and I think that made a big difference as I felt so stuck.
