First Year Nearly over

Its weird now everything is nearly finished, the only thing we've got left to do is the presentation for the PPD module. I've got a background of powerpoint slides with pictures and some cards with notes on so I can talk about the year in general. Ive really enjoyed my first year and its only confirmed that I did the right thing changing to fashion.

Im glad my elective has finished, theres no way im doing an evening thing again, next year i'll do it in reading week. I have no motivation to go to the lessons after a full day at uni, even though all we do is register then go it just feels so pointless. I ended up doing some decapitated thumper photos, some sketches, a tshirt and an animation for it. The project didn't really have a final outcome, it was more of a progression of images. I didn't really enjoy my elective and I think i'm going to do something more fashion based next year like jewelery, i had hoped visualisation and illustration would improve my drawing skills but to be honest I don't think i've learnt anything.

I was really pleased with my interdis work, it was the project i'd worked the hardest on and I feel i'm ready to go into my second year. I've now got the timescale thing working and I'm looking forward to second year, ive already chosen my pathway, which is innovation as I think it will give me a broader range of fashion knowledge.

Hey there, I just discovered your blog! Shame you don't seem to update so often, as I think it is really interesting to have some insight into the everyday life of a fashion degree. :) I am one of those who didn't have the guts to switch degrees but I am constantly thinking about how to make it work now.

All the best,
Veronika
